MAGDA SKOMAL has been in theatre since childhood. After completing her Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree, majoring in education and theater at Salve Regina University, Magda furthered her theatrical studies at the Stella Adler Conservatory in NYC. After working with different educational theatre groups as well as teaching high school, Magda decided to combine her love of theatre and her desire to teach, thus forming Interactive Educational Theatre, Inc.
She is a certified HIV/AIDS Instructor with the American Red Cross and the proud recipient of the State of Connecticut’s Commissioner’s AIDS Leadership Award for bringing the messages of HIV awareness and prevention to Connecticut’s youth. She is also the project director for the Stop AIDS Mobile Theatre which has educated over 700,000 people in the two decades..
She has written and directed Out Of The Closet, a cabaret celebrating diversity and supporting GLBTQ communities. She made her Off Broadway debut as the director of the critically acclaimed drama BLUFF, which deals with many of the social issues close to her heart. Now, she heads back to NYC to direct the Off Broadway production of The Exes.
